SIMM = Single In-line Memory Module

Description

30-Pin SIMM memory sticks are the old standard for desktop computers. A 30-Pin SIMM memory slot is about 8.5 centimeters long. 30-Pin SIMM memory sticks were superseded by EDO.

Purpose

RAM temporally holds computer program code and information during computation. The more memory you add to your computer the faster it will be able to preform.
